Background & Experience
Stuart has been appointed by federal and state courts to oversee some of the most significant reorganizations and liquidations in Washington State, including a $93M portfolio containing more than 375 mortgage-backed loans and properties, as well as a business with operations in 17 states (with $30+ million in accounts receiveable and more than 300 causes of action from a previous receivership). His experience as a receiver over real estate includes multi-family complexes, office buildings, motels, retail stores, mobile home parks, auto repair facilities, restaurants, working farms, condominium complexes, single-family residences, recreational land, and vacant land. His experience as a receiver over business concerns includes both liquidations and operating entities.
He has more than 30 years of experience as a real estate broker and 35 years of experience as a real estate and business attorney. As a real estate broker and an attorney, Stuart has been involved in all facets of real estate transactions for owners, buyers, sellers and creditors. Stuart’s work has ranged from large-scale international real estate development to single-family residences. As a business executive, he has served as CEO, COO, Executive Vice President, and General Counsel of venture-backed businesses. He is deeply connected in the real estate, business, and legal communities of the Pacific Northwest. He is also a former Judge Pro-Tem in the King County Superior Court System and a current King County Superior Court Arbitrator, as well as a Chapter 11 Federal Bankruptcy Trustee.

Stuart has worked in Mother Teresa's Kalighat Home, a free hospice for the poor and Prem Dan, a home for the destitute and elderly in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), India.
Stuart has led teams and worked on-site at Habitat for Humanity building projects in Hungary, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Jordan, Brazil, Guatemala, Portugal, Romania, and Cambodia.
Stuart has volunteered with Kibbutz Degania Aleph in Israel.
